Brandelyn Tafoya

“At a time when grocery prices are rising and confidence in our food supply is plummeting, becoming self-sufficient through growing and processing your own food has never been more important!”

Brandelyn Tafoya
Brandelyn is a modern homesteader educating & inspiring other to live a healthier and more self-reliant lifestyle from her farm in the PNW. She shares cooking demos and recipes, along with how she and her little family have Pivoted from shopping daily to growing and raising 80% of what they eat at home!

About Brandelyn

She met her husband, Joe, at Whole Foods 17 years ago. Their journey took them to the NFL, where Joe played as a defensive end for the Seattle Seahawks, to the entrepreneurial world, launching businesses and building a community.

After years of running Lady 12, a successful women’s fan apparel brand, life took another turn in 2020, pushing them toward a new chapter—homesteading. On their 20-acre Pivot Farm, they now grow 80% of their food, raise goats for dairy, chickens, pigs, and turkeys for meat, and tend to thriving gardens, orchards, and an apiary.

Pivot Farm isn’t just their home—it’s a place for education and hands-on learning. She teaches chicken and goat-keeping classes, horseback riding, and shares her homestead journey through social media.

Whether you’re dreaming of a homestead or just curious, Brandelyn hopes to inspire and guide you on your own path to self-sufficiency.

Family

We put family above everything else. Our kids are our driving force to live as healthy as we possibly can. Nothing is more important than the time that we get to spend together, and being healthy will hopefully increase that amount of time. Our homestead will always be a safe home for our children and their future children.

Resilience

Things are going to go wrong from time to time. It’s what you learn and how you recover from those hard times that determines your level of success.

Foresight

Purity of our food is the driving force for why my family has decided to grow our own food, but the landscape is constantly changing at this point when it comes to avoiding toxins in our food supply. We have to be able to spot the trends and misinformation being sold to us, so we can make the necessary adjustments to avoid the things we don’t want in our food.
